African Puzzle Privacy Policy

African Puzzle, SAS/INC, publisher of the African Puzzle works mobile application ("African Puzzle works", "we", "our" and "us") provides an all-in-one workspace enabling our users to register, upload photos, contacts, write, plan and organize. Our privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") is designed to help you understand how we collect, use and share your personal information and to help you exercise the privacy rights available to you.
Your data belongs to you
Your data does not belong to us. Putting notes and other content on African Puzzle works does not change the ownership and copyright status of the content in question. If the data originally belonged to you, it continues to belong to you once you have placed it on African Puzzle works. Naturally, if the data did not originally belong to you, putting it on African Puzzle works does not give you ownership in any way. This applies to all our products and services.
By using our products, you authorize African Puzzle works to perform certain actions with your data in order to operate our service. For example, you authorize us to save it within the time limits of legal regulations, send it over a network, index it so you can search for it later, display it on your different devices, etc. Some of these operations may require us to send your data to our regular business partners (such as our network operator) to whom we have entrusted the execution of part of the African Puzzle works service. We always ensure that our contracts with these partners protect your property rights.
Apart from authorizing us to perform these limited operations to run the African Puzzle works service, you retain all rights relating to your data.
Scope
This privacy policy covers the personal information we collect about you when you use our products or services, or interact with us in any other way, including on our website at www.africanpuzzle.com, our mobile application ("App") and our WhatsApp group related online service ("Service"). This policy also explains the choices available to you regarding how we use your personal information, including how you can object to certain uses of information and how you can access and update certain information.
1. Personal information we collect
We collect personal information when you provide it to us, when you use our services and when other sources provide it to us, as described below.
A. Information you provide to us
Account creation: When you create an account or use the Services, we collect information such as your name, email address, password and your role within your team or company. If you choose to grant permission, the African Puzzle WORKS application accesses your device's contacts and photos to enhance your experience with the application. African Puzzle WORKS does not store your content on company servers, meaning any content you save in the application - such as text, images, photos, contacts, numbers and voice notes - is stored only on your device. We respect your privacy and will never share this information without your explicit consent.
Your communications with us: We collect personal information such as your email address, phone number or mailing address when you request information about our services, subscribe to our newsletter, request technical or customer support, or otherwise communicate with us. We also collect the content of messages or attachments you may send us, as well as other information you choose to provide, which may be associated with your communications.
Payment information: When you choose to subscribe to our service, we collect payment information to enable you to pay us. We use third-party payment providers to process payments on the Services. We may receive information associated with your payment information, such as billing address and transaction information, but we do not directly store payment information on the Services.
Surveys: We may contact you to participate in surveys. If you decide to participate, you may be asked to provide certain information that may include personal data.
Interactive features: We may offer interactive features such as forums, blogs, chat and messaging services, and social media pages. We and other users of our services may collect information that you submit or make available through these interactive features. Any content you provide through the public sections of these features will be considered "public" and will not be subject to the privacy protections mentioned herein.
Lottery or contest registration: We may organize lotteries and contests. The contact information you provide may be used to inform you about draws or contests and for other promotional, marketing and commercial purposes.
Conferences, trade shows and other events: We may attend conferences, trade shows and other events where we collect personal information from people who interact with or express interest in the services.
Job applications: We may post job openings and opportunities on the services. If you respond to one of these postings by submitting your application, CV and/or cover letter, we will collect and use your information to assess your qualifications.
B. Information collected automatically
Automatic data collection: We keep track of certain information about you when you visit and interact with any of our services. This information may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, user settings, MAC address, cookie identifiers, mobile carrier, mobile advertising and other unique identifiers, details about your browser, operating system or device, location information (including location inferred from your IP address), your Internet service provider, pages you visit before, during and after using the services, information about links you click, information about how you interact with the services including frequency and duration of your activities, and other information about how you use the services.
Cookies, Pixel Tags/Web Beacons, and Analytics Information: We, as well as third parties that provide content, advertising or other features on the Services, may use cookies, pixel tags, local storage and other technologies ("Technologies") to automatically collect information through the Services.
Cookies: Cookies are small text files placed in device browsers to remember their preferences. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies. However, if you do so, the services may not function properly.
Pixel Tags / Web Beacons: A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded in services that collects information about engagement in services.
Analytics: We may also use third-party service providers to collect and process analytics data and other information about our services.
C. Information from other sources
We may obtain information about you from other sources, including through third-party services and organizations. If you choose to use the Google Contacts feature in our services, we will be able to view your contacts via the Google People API. The sole use of this data is to populate auto-completion of your contacts when sending invitation emails. African Puzzle works will not use this data for any other purpose.
2. How do we use your information?
We use your personal information for various business purposes, including to:
Provide the services or information requested, such as:
- Fulfilling our contract with you,
- Identifying and communicating with you, including sending newsletters and marketing materials,
- Managing your information,
- Processing your payments and managing your invoices,
- Responding to questions, comments and other requests,
- Providing access to certain areas, features and characteristics of our services, and
- Responding to requests for technical support or customer support.
Administrative management, such as:
- Communication around your legitimate interests, such as direct marketing, research and development, network and information security, and fraud prevention,
- Measuring interest and engagement in our services,
- Developing new products and services and improving the services,
- Ensuring internal quality control and security of our services,
- Authentication and verification of your identity,
- Conducting audits,
- Communicating with you about your account, activities on our services and updates to our privacy policy,
- Preventing and stopping potentially prohibited or illegal activities,
- Enforcing our Terms of Use,
- Enforcing our legal obligations.
3. Disclosure of your information to third parties
We may share your personal information with the following categories of third parties:
Service providers: We may share the personal information we collect about you with our third-party service providers for: (i) providing the Services; (ii) providing information, products and other services you have requested; (iii) marketing and advertising; (iv) payment and transaction processing; (v) customer service activities; and (vi) providing IT and related services.
Business partners: We may provide personal information to business partners to provide you with a product or service you have requested.
Advertising partners: We do not use or share your information to advertise third-party products or services through the Services. We may use and share your personal information with third-party advertising partners to market our own Services.
4. International data transfers
All information we process is processed and stored in France. We strive to protect your information in accordance with the requirements of laws applicable to the European Commission.
5. Your choices
You have the right to object to or refuse certain uses of your personal information. When you have consented to the processing of your personal information, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us as described below.
6. Your right to privacy
Depending on your location and in accordance with applicable laws, you may have the right to:
- Access personal information about you in accordance with legal requirements.
- Request correction of your personal information when it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Request deletion of your personal information subject to certain exceptions provided by law.
- Request restriction or objection to the processing of your personal information, including the right to accept or refuse the sale of your personal information to third parties.
7. Data retention
We retain personal information we receive as described in this privacy policy for as long as you use our services or as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected. Data is stored on servers managed in France by Clever Cloud.
8. Security of your data
We take steps to ensure that your information is processed securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. Unfortunately, no system is 100% secure and we cannot ensure or guarantee the security of information you provide to us.
9. Third-party websites/applications
The Services may contain links to other websites/applications. These third-party services are not controlled by us. We encourage our users to read the privacy policies of each website and application with which they interact.
10. Concerning children
The Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Supervisory authority
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to file a complaint with a supervisory authority.
12. California privacy notice
This privacy notice applies to California consumers and supplements the privacy policy.
13. Changes to our privacy policy
We may revise this privacy policy from time to time at our sole discretion. If there is a material change to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
